In Greenway Bioprocessos Group we are totally committed to the environment and one of our main premises is to support sectors that have seen their productivity affected due to the contamination of soil and aquifers, that is why our projects collaborate with the respective municipalities by building and operating infrastructures that allow the provision of certain public services that the administration, due to different circumstances, has not been able to assume until now, consisting in the adequate treatment of the by-products of agri-food, livestock and agricultural activities, for different circumstances, has not been able to assume until now, consisting in the adequate treatment of the by-products of agri-food, livestock and agricultural activities, thus facilitating compliance with the new regulations governing the activities, such as the aforementioned R. D. 306/2020, of February 11, which establishes the basic rules for the management of intensive pig farms, aimed at guaranteeing a responsible management of their by-products, reducing odorous environmental pollution, CO2 emissions, ammonia,  pathogenic sulfhydryls.

At Grupo Greenway Bioprocesos we are committed to the rural environment and livestock farming in our country, that is why we seek solutions that generate a common benefit for all, while providing sustainable and environmental solutions to the countryside and our environment.

Greenway is currently promoting the construction of several plants in the regions of Murcia, Andalusia, Extremadura, Aragon, and Castilla la Mancha, among others.

In all of them we provide a collection and transportation service at zero cost, to agricultural, livestock and agri-food companies.

GREENWAY and its collaborating companies (top level in the production of biofuels), have the best available technique for the construction and operation of the referred Plants, having collaborated directly with the General Subdirectorate of Hydrocarbons and New Fuels of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, in the elaboration of the "Biogas Roadmap", whose objective is "to be the tool that guides and promotes the deployment and development of these biofuels in Spain, given the relevant role they can play in the energy transition".

In March 2023, the pig herd in Spain stood at more than 34,000,000 head, being our country the largest European producer of pigs.

The Spanish livestock sector and especially farms with an intensive production system have a problem of more than 50 million tons of slurry. These produce large quantities of methane emissions, one of the main greenhouse gases, which pollute our atmosphere. These slurries also produce excess ammonia emissions, which pollute aquifers and soils, as well as other pollutants.

Spain has a significant deficit of structures and plants for the closing of the waste and/or by-products cycle, both public and private, which seriously complicates compliance within the established deadlines, of the new European regulations that bind both the agri-food, livestock and agricultural sectors, as well as the regional and municipal administrations, for the proper management of their waste and/or by-products.

Farmers need BAT (Best Available Technique) in their area, which does not make their production more expensive, in order to maintain the viability of their farms while complying with current legislation.

Suitable substrates

Substrates suitable for processing in plants are very varied. Some examples:

01    |    Cattle manure; pig slurry; poultry manure.

02    |    Horticultural and fruit and vegetable residues and by-products

03    |    Agri-food substrates

04    |    Vegetable waste from the food and canning industry.

05    |    Substrates resulting from the oil milling process.

06    |    River cane (arundo donax)

07    |    Biocultivation of suitable species in the area.

08    |    Others to be analyzed in each implementation area

Feedstock & Estimated Production
Biofuel and biofertilizer plant

(Region of Murcia, Spain)

Thanks to agreements signed with important livestock groups, livestock integrations and other farms, some of our projects already have the necessary feedstock.
